Missouri Woman Arrested in Alleged Plot to Steal Graceland and Extort Elvis Presley’s Family
According to NBC News, in a report by Marlene Lenthang on Friday, August 16, 2024. A Missouri woman has been arrested and charged in a shocking scheme to defraud the family of the late Elvis Presley and steal ownership of Graceland, the iconic Memphis home of the music legend.
Lisa Jeanine Findley, 53, also known by multiple aliases, including Lisa Holden, was apprehended Friday morning. She faces federal charges of mail fraud and aggravated identity theft, as the Department of Justice announced. The charges were revealed in a criminal complaint unsealed on the same day.
Prosecutors allege that Findley orchestrated a fraudulent scheme, falsely claiming that Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis’s daughter who passed away in January 2023, had used Graceland as collateral for a loan that went unpaid. She is accused of creating fake documents to extort a significant settlement from the Presley family.
Findley will make her initial court appearance today in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri.
