Robert Saleh Fired as Jets Head Coach

New York, NY – In a shocking turn of events, the New York Jets have fired head coach Robert Saleh just five games into the 2024 NFL season, sources confirm. Saleh, who has led the Jets since 2021, was dismissed following the team’s recent 23-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in London. The defeat was marked by a poor performance from star quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who threw three interceptions.

The decision is a surprise given the Jets’ high expectations for the season, especially with Rodgers returning after a season-ending injury in 2023. However, the team’s struggles early in the season have pushed the organization to make a drastic move.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter was the first to report on Saleh’s firing. The Jets have since announced that defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich will step in as interim head coach for the season. Ulbrich has been credited with building one of the NFL’s top defenses over recent years.

Saleh leaves the Jets with a 20-36 record and a .357 winning percentage, unable to break the franchise’s playoff drought, which stretches back to 2011.

This is a developing story. Stay tuned to the Midtown Times for further updates.
