THE MIDTOWN TIMES – In a stark message ahead of the upcoming presidential election, former President Donald Trump has threatened Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg directly, warning him of severe consequences if he does not cooperate with Trump’s election efforts.

In his forthcoming book, *Save America*, released next week, Trump includes a photograph of himself with Zuckerberg at the White House. Beneath the image, Trump claims that Zuckerberg would frequently visit the Oval Office, accompanied by his wife, appearing cordial while allegedly conspiring against him by implementing what Trump calls “shameful Lock Boxes” to undermine his presidency.

Trump further blames Zuckerberg for contributing to his election conspiracies, issuing a grave warning: “He told me there was nobody like Trump on Facebook. But for reasons known only to him, he worked against me. We are monitoring his actions closely, and if he does anything illegal this time, he will spend the rest of his life in prison—along with anyone else who cheats in the 2024 Presidential Election.”

This is not the first time Trump has publicly targeted Zuckerberg with the threat of imprisonment. In July, he accused the Meta CEO of using “ZUCKERBUCKS” to influence elections, vowing that a future Trump administration would crack down on alleged election fraud with unprecedented severity, resulting in lengthy prison sentences.

Zuckerberg’s response to Trump has been notably conciliatory. He praised Trump for his resilience, even calling him “badass” following a rally incident in Pennsylvania. Additionally, Zuckerberg recently expressed regrets to Congress about his company’s handling of the Hunter Biden laptop story in 2020, a move that Trump gleefully highlighted on his Truth Social platform as evidence of a rigged election.

“Zuckerberg admits that the White House pushed to SUPPRESS HUNTER BIDEN LAPTOP STORY (& much more!). IN OTHER WORDS, THE 2020 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION WAS RIGGED,” Trump wrote on Tuesday.

Threatening the imprisonment of a social media platform owner for not complying with personal political demands raises significant First Amendment concerns. Trump continues to maintain that the 2020 election was rigged against him, alleging widespread voter fraud and collusion between the media and social platforms. As the 2024 election approaches, Trump has yet to commit to accepting the outcome if it does not go in his favor. Meanwhile, Republicans are making strategic moves to influence the election, particularly in key battleground states, prompting Democrats to prepare for potential challenges, looking to states like Georgia for examples of maintaining electoral integrity.
